Most parts of Waikiki Beach are open 24 hours a day.

However to curb camping and loitering, several parts of Waikiki Beach will be closed for some time during the night.

Kuhio Beach is closed from midnight to 5:00 am. Duke Kahanamoku Beach Park is closed from 2:00 am to 5:00 am. Kapiolani Park is closed from 12:00 am to 5:00 am.

Is Waikiki Beach Closed?

While the hours mentioned above typically hold true, note that parts of Waikiki Beach may be closed to the public due to unusual circumstances.

For example, part of Kaimana Beach was closed off in April 2023 to protect an endangered monk seal and its newborn pup.
